4. JONATHAN FRANCES⁴ HORRELL (JONATHAN³, JOSEPH², MARK¹) was born August 19, 1762 in Plymouth ,Devonshire, England, and died March 24, 1863 in Rowan ,North Carolina. He married (1) REBECCA DINGLE. She died Unknown. He married (2) MARY JANE HARVEY RITTER Abt. 1814 in New Hanover, NC. She was born August 25, 1791, and died Abt. 1871 in Zilphia's home in Rowan N.C. Bladen County.

This is for John Francis Horrell descendants mainly, but you other Horrells don't stop looking. In Brunswick County, across the river and up the Cape Fear is Neils Eddy Landing, once known as Port Vernon. Our Ancestor Ephraim John Vernon was allowed about 600 acres at that site by the colonial council in Edenton NC...in 1735. I hope to get over there to that "landing" in the next few days. This site is also associated with John Gambier Scull, another of our ancestors who fought in the Revolution and died 1811. He was a lawyer, Sheriff of Brunswick, state legislator, and helped write the NC Constitution. There are three cemetaries over there which I hope still have markers. I will post river view pictures if able to get on the site over there. We may have connections with the Pridgen family from the Vernons. Also may have found Pridgen connections through our Wilson connection.
