Notes for Richard Fitzalan:
Knight of the Garter 1386, Ninth Earl of Arundel and Tenth Earl of Surrey. Bearer of the Crown of Coronation of Richard II on July 16, 1377. Was a member of the Council and was made Admiral of the west and south in 1377, and in 1386, of all England. Together with the Duke of Gloucester, he took an active part against the King, who in 1388, was entirely that Duke's power. In 1394, he obtained a pardon for all political offenses, but July 12, 1397, was tried at Westminster. He was beheaded in Cheapside, September 21, 1397.
