About Our Family Research

My Grandparents >Walker=Sutter< came from Ireland around the time of potato famine,I think grandad had farmed. They married in Scotland, settling in Dumbarton where they were blessed to have
'Ten Children'
*James born Jan1901-died1909 aged 8. Next came *Thomas
B.1902'*Hugh B.1904,*Norman B.1906,*Sarah Esther(Acey)B.1907,
*Margaret(Greta)B.1909,*James B.1910(named after young james who'd passed on in 1909),*Robert B.1910,*Joseph Lafferty B.1915,
*Martha B.1917-the last of their ten children.
The Family moved around Dumbarton quite a lot as the family grew so did the need for a bigger home!
Some of the family settled in Dumbarton, but others moved onwhere work was more plentiful I guess.
James Married Alice Brookes from Dumbarton, they moved to Toronto Canada where they had three more children.Tommy moved to Greenock, where he married Jane McCormack,I think they had a few children too!Acey married and lived with her family in Belfast I think. Greta married a Jim Carter they too settled with their family in Canada! Robert(Bobby) was in the Navy,he married and settled in Newzealand,so the Irish,Scottish Walkers have branched ot in many a clime,I'd love to hear from cousins wherever they may be!
My mothers parents *John Tallach=Jane Smith Crawford* had six
SIX CHILDREN
*Isabella,*Margaret,*Tom,*Jean,*Harriet,*Andrew.
All except Andrew I think were born in Alexandria, they later moveand grew up in Dumbarton.Margaret moved to Liverpool then later when most of her family was grown to the states,Andrew settled in Canada where he and his family still live.Jean and her family moved to Paisley,Harriet married and moved with her family to Canada,Tom and his family moved to Erskine,so the Tallachs too have moved far and wide,I think one cousin is in Australia!
