I have known Evan Freeman a number of years he was sent to the Asylum once about six year ago the neighborhood thinks he ought to be confined. his mind has been growing worse for _______ ______ months I have heard of his making efforts to take his own life. He died about 1900 in South Carolina. Wife and children shown on 1900 Webster Parish, Louisiana census near her brother's (J. B. King) family. She states she is widowed. However, one child is only 9 years old - so wife was pregnant when he died (?). He was born in South Carolina. Parents: James Grimke FREEMAN and Sarah BLACK.
