Mrs. Ann Louise Butler, past ninety six years of age, and one of the early settlers of Warren County, died at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Bridenthal in Wymore, Nebraska. She was making her home the past few years, with her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Gainer of this city, but a few months ago left for Nebraska for an extended visit. The direct cause of her death was old age and other complications. She had been sick for the past two weeks and the announcement of her death yesterday afternoon was not a surprise, as the end had been momentarily expected. The remains will be brought to this city for burial. Sketch of Life Ann Louise Jones was born in Bucks County, Pa. on April 19, 1809. She was the daughter of Isaiah and Sarah (Hartford) Jones, who traced their ancestor to the early colonial days. When she was only three years of age, her parents moved to Trumball County, Ohio. Three years later they moved to Wooster, Ohio. They erected the first frame building in that city, where the father was a prominent business man. They moved to Bucyrus in that same year. On September 20, 1829, the deceased was united in marriage with Isaac Butler at Bucyrus. Their married life was a long and happy one, culminating in the death of the husband in 1875. In 1836 the family again moved west to Plymouth, Marshall County, Indiana, where they resided until 1864, when they came to Monmouth. After a short residence here they went to ............................ which was known as Lenox, and remained there until the death of Mr. Butler on July 16, 1875. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Butler made her home with her children. The first seven years were spent at the Dalles, Oregon with her son Daniel. In 1882 Mrs. Butler returned to Monmouth, and after five years residence with her daughter, Mrs. Gainer, she went to Wymore. During the remaining years she mad frequent trips between Nebraska and Illinois and it was only a few years age that she paid a visit to her old home in Ohio. Her last residence here commenced in Nov. 1901, remaining here nearly four years, leaving on Sept. last, for Wymore. to this union of Mr. and Mrs. Butler, seven children ware born, four of them are still living. She was the last of a large family of children. The last brother, Rev Harrison Jones, a famous preacher of Ohio died several years. Early in life Mrs. Butler united with the Christian Church at Bucyrus Ohio, and she has ever since remained a faithful and loyal follower of that denomination. She always took an active part in missionary and church work and was a woman beloved by all that knew her. She contributed largely to the Christian Womans Board of Missions and was made life member of the society of Cincinnati. She was also a member of the Mildred Warner "Washington Chapter of the D. A.
