Per conversation between Billy Ray Jones and Giles McGregor in January 2001:
Killed a man in around Hattisburg,Ms. was told by sheriff to leave state.
He went to Tx. He came thru Lake Charles and went to First United
Methodist Church for a while was later excumnicated from this church.
Supposedly got shot and lived over it. He supposedly had a lot of money
sewed up in his coat at one time but
no one seems to know what happened to it. Per conversation between Billy Ray Jones and Giles McGregor in January 2001:
John was the oldest son of James M. Jones . He killed a man in Ms. and was
told by the sheriff to leave the state. He did he went Lake Charles, La.
and then to Tx. he was shot in Tx. but healed up over this/ According to
Giles Mcgregor who was Sallie Jones Schell's grandson. he seemed to
believe that John died in Tx. I have heard other sources that say he died
in Hattisburg Ms. But we still have no grave to prove which source is
right. As for as Giles knows there are no Decendents of John that he had
no children that he ever heard of. Parents: James M. JONES and Mary BRINSON.
