Obituary - Nov. 6, 1896: Died at Marion Iowa Nov. 6, 1896, Mrs. Sarah Anderson, mother of Rev. Geo A. Anderson, of Ottuma, recently of Birmingham. Mrs. Anderson was born near Evansville, Waric Co. While at Birmingham, she was poisoned by pulling a weed in the garden, Dr. Pitt Norris attended her and by his skill she was made well, yet the strain on one so far advanced in years seems to have made its mark, she never was so strong after. She was converted and united with the M. E. church when but a child. Her father and grandfather being Ministers of that church she was born a Methodist and died the same. She never left the Methodist church but it left her and in 1886, she united with the Free Methodist and died as she lived in triumph. When asked by her son a few moments before she died if Jesus was with her with one last effort she exclaimed, "All is well" and passed away. Rev. W. C. Thompson presented the funeral sermon from 2 Corin. Chapter 1 verse., At peace be her ashes. At rest be her soul. She was buried after 6 Nov 1896 in Crabapple Cemetery, Springville, Linn Co., Iowa.
