he would buy whiskey in Oppelousas,La. and drive it thru Lake Charles to
Texas. He would avoid his Uncle Abraham Jones who worked for the sheriff
department cause he knew he would not approve. after prohibition he lived
on the county line between Harris County,Tx. and Montgomery County,Tx.
Montgomery county you could only buy wine and beer but in Harris County
you could buy whiskey. the sheriff in Montgomery county sold him land at
Spring Creek to get him out of town. where he opened a Liquor Store and

Per conversation between Billy Jones and Nell McGregor Martin, January 2001: She (Sallie) left Sebron with all the kids while he was out plowing the field. He came home her and all the kids were gone. She went to Hattisburg, Mississippi and opened a bed and Breakfast. She shipped off Maud and Lena to nursing school and put the other kids to work doing various jobs.
