SOURCES		 bullet William THOMAS was born in 1678 in Llanwenarth, Monmouthshire, Wales. (854)(1110) He was the brother of Oliver. about 1678 in Llanwenarth, Monmouthshire, Wales. According to Jack Thompson (not verified by E. Jones). He was educated before 1710. He was well-educated. He was a Cooper before 1711 in Wales. He immigrated in 1712 to America. Arrived 14-Feb-1712 in Philadelphia. all their possessions were stolen by the ship master so they arrived destitute (according to book in FHL in Salt Lake City-neglected to note source info.). He emigrated in 1712 from Bristol. When he emigrated he was living on a farm called "Blassaw of Wyn" in the Parish of Bedwlldy. His family possessed some means and were freeholders of an estate of considerable value. The estate was sold on the death of his parents and he left for America in the Winter of 1712 at the age of 34 from Bristol (according to a book at FHL in Salt Lake City-neglected to note source info.). He was living between 1713 and 1718 in Radnor, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania. (854) He first lived in the township of Radnor, now Delaware county, wither he removed in the fall of 1713, where he worked fvie years at his trade. Moved to Radnor (now in Delaware Co., PA) in late 1713. He purchased 440 acres on 12 Feb 1718 in Hilltown, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania. (1857) For 88 pounds from Jeremiah Langhorne on line of Samuel Carter. He was a Cooper on 12 Feb 1718 in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (1858) He purchased 300 acres, of 2000 acres on 28 Sep 1723 in Hilltown, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania. (1859) For 90 pounds from James & Sarah Logan, purcahased of Israel Pemberton, on line of John Penn and Andrew Buskirk.

According to "A Walk Through Historic Hilltown (Bucks County, Pennsylvania) with Edward Mathews (page 5) he bought 223 adjoining acres at the same time. He purchased 106 acres, of 150 acres, of 3000 acres on 18 Dec 1725 in Hilltown, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania.(1860) For 56 pounds from Rowland Ellis Jr., patented, 1695, by Daniel Wharley, woolen draper, of London, who devised to eldest son Daniel, who sold to said Rowland. He was a Yeoman on 18 Dec 1725 in Hilltown, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania. He purchased 212 acres of 2000 acres on 10 Apr 1728 in Hilltown, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania. (1861) For 100 pounds from James & Sarah Logan, purchased of Israel Pemberton, on line of Evan Griffith He purchased 50 acres, of 150 acres on 13 Apr 1728 in Hilltown, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania. (1862) For 25 pounds from Benjamin & Sage Philips, purchased of John & Mary Vanbuskerk He was a Cooper on 13 Apr 1728 in Hilltown, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania. He purchased 200 acres on 20 Jun 1748 in Hilltown, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania. (1863) For 100 pounds from Lewis & Magdalen Evans, on line of Thomas Evans, William Wilson, John Williams, Philip Wood, John Grier, Thomas Steward, and Thomas Rowland. He was a Yeoman on 20 Jun 1748 in Hilltown, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania.(1858) He purchased 207 acres on 6 Jun 1749 in Hilltown Church, Hilltown, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania. Tradition says that he was able-bodied, a short, thickset, chunky man, of dark hair, eyes and complexion, rather bony and spare than fleshy, and sharp spoken or sententious in his speech.

He was married to Ann GRIFFITH before 1711 in Wales. A Anna Griffith and William Thomas were married 3-July-1714 in Nevern, Pembroke, Wales according to some book (that I foolishly didn't note) at the FHL in Salt Lake City.
