39. Frank Kincaid wrote a letter in 1970 outlining the Dr. Peter Kincaid Family lineage through six generations. He was 76 years old at the time and his memory was very acute and his detailed outline of the family was accurate. The letter is in my possession (Naomi Rita Mae Morrison Jones Collier).

"My grandfather, Valentine Hatfield was born in Russell County, Va. My grandmother, Elizabeth Vance was a native of the same county...". This is in error, Valentine Hatfield's wife was Martha (Mattie) Weddington. Elizabeth Vance was the first wife of Joseph Hatfield, father of Ale & Ephraim. Ephraim (married to Mary Goff ) was the father of Valentine (married to Martha Weddington), who was the father of Ephraim (Big Eph) (married to Nancy Vance), who was the father of William Anderson (Devil Anse) Hatfield (married to Levicy Chafin). Ale as the brother of Ephraim, is also the direct decendant of Joseph Hatfield.
