Thomas (Lincoln) Aloysius Donley (son of Michael Francis Donley and Anna Stacia Moylan) was born May 08, 1872 in Yellow Springs, Greene County, Ohio, and died May 03, 1959 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. He married Anna Agnes "Daisy" Fisher on June 12, 1900 in St. Paul's Church, Yellow Springs, Greene County, Ohio, daughter of John Fisher and Catherine/Katherine Slate.

Thomas was born Thomas Lincoln, but it was changed to Thomas Aloysius at Baptism.
Helped to build Antioch College. Was a brick mason.
Referred to as Thomas A. Donley in Greene County History.

According to his obituary, he was mayor of Yellow Springs for 16 years, past street commissioner, marshal and justice of the peace. Died in Green Hill Nursing Home in Xenia after a long illness. He was a retired stone mason. His political career began in 1904, when he ran for street commissioner and won. Shortly afterward he was elected village marshall. In 1910 the Republican Party drafted him to run for mayor. From 1910 to 1933 he held the mayor's office, while Senator Fess, his "close personal friend" skyrocketed to national prominence. He spent 20 years as umpire for Antioch College's intercollegiate baseball team. A member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Yellow springs. For 58 years, resided at 301 Fairfield Park. Survivors: besides his wife; 4 daughters: Lillian Beck of Dayton, Mrs. Anna Bolton and Mrs. Theresa Reynolds of Melbourne, Florida, and Mrs. Eleanor Smith of Birmingham, Alabama; 4 sons: George of Washington DC, Thomas E. of Yellow Springs, Charles of Melbourne, Florida and James of Xenia.

According to Greene County History, Thomas was reared in Yellow Springs, received his schooling there, became a building contractor in almost all parts of Ohio. Made a specialty of ornamental stone work, with particular reference to boulder mantels and the like. One of the most notable examples of his craftsmanship is the ornamental entrance to the Kelly farm north of Yellow Springs. He designed a type of bench found all over Yellow Springs and Xenia. Tom Donley IV has one in his yard. Also built a stone bench at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Xenia at the family site and the stone pillars at the entrance to the Woodlawn Cemetery in Xenia.

Family story has it that, after his daughter, Margaret, died due to childbirth infection, he went chasing the doctor with a shotgun.
