Includes NotesNotes for Charles "Sam" Lunn:
Sam's sister Loretta Valero of Ladd, Illinois, tells us their mother as a small child, along with a brother and sister, were lost in the flood in East St. Louis, Illinois. The children were separated and raised in foster care or State facilities and were not reunited until Sam and Loretta were grown. One day a man appeared at the door of their mother and told her he was her long lost brother, Lindly, and that their mother was alive in Vernon, Illinois. She had remarried and they had adopted a young man. She was now a widow and when she died a few years later, left all her money to the adopted child.
