Donald was the only brother to graduate from high school. He graduated from Reading
Senior High School in February 1929. The major reasons that Donald was the only brother to graduate from high school appear to have been 1) economic since (all the other brothers quit at age 14, 15, 16 to support the family and 2) Donald skipped 2 grades (3rd & 4th) which allowed him to graduate at age 16 and being the next to youngest with all the other brothers working, there wasn't the necessity for him to quit school.

Donald was employed at the Berkshire Knitting Mills from March 7, 1929 through July 7, 1961.
He started an office boy and was promoted to assistant Sec & Controller of the Lingerie Dept.
He also was employed from Sept 6,1961 through April 2, 1976 (when he retired) by the United
Advertising Corp as Officer & Office Manager.
He was a president of the Muhlenburg Lions Club, as well as president of the Berks Lane Bowling League and the Bowl-O-Rama League. He was captain of the Berks Lane Bowling Team.
He completed three courses from Penn State. The first - Corporation & Manufacturing Accounting in January 1943 and the second in the course in January 1943, each course consisting of 100 class hours. The third course completed was 32 hours for Basic Computer Programming in May 1965.
He also received a Certificate of Proficiency from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton
Extension School for a Special Course in Accounts & Finance in June 1954.

Donald traveled quite extensively, from summer vacations at various shore locations from
New Jersey to Florida. He also cruised the Mississippi River and vacationed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

At age 85, he still religiously does 100 pushups per day.

Donald was very active as the Church Council at Alsace Lutheran Church of Reading, Pa., as well as the Consistary of the Rosedale Church of Christ, Laureldale, Pa.

Donald was also an accomplished dancer and performed with the Penn Wheelman Club of Dancers in Reading. Often his 5 other brothers, who also danced, accompanied him.

He was married on 25 Oct 1930 in Reading, Pa. Children were:
