Jacob Keffer, eldest son appointed administrator, he died before estate was settled.
John Keffer was appointed on the 2th day of April to complete the estate. He was buried on 22 Jan 1814 in Reading, Pa.

Pvt. John Peter Keffer, probably the youngest of the brothers who saw active duty, appears on the Muster List of May 1780 in Captain John Nice's Company, 6th Regiment Penna. Foot Soldier, now in service of the United States, Commanded by Col. Robert Magaw (Archives of Penna. Series 5, Vol. III, Pg. 163). It is interesting, in further substantiation of the record that between the birth of his son John Louis on May 6, 1778 and that of his daughter Elizabeth on August 18, 1781, there was a gap of 3 years and 3 months, an uncommon occurrence of no births in the Keffer family even in those days. In 1780, when his name appeared on the muster list, he must have been 37 years old, having been born in 1742 .John Peter died on Jan 20, 1814. He was married to Mary Barbara Hartman on 7 Nov 1762 in Reading, Pa.

Barbara Hartmann of Indian lore fame was married to John Peter Keffer on Nov 7, 1762 at the home of Christopher Henrich. There are nine children of this union recorded the Goshenhoppen Registers 1741 - 1819. These are the Registers of Baptisms, Marriages and Deaths of the Catholic Mission at Gossenhoppen (Bally) in Washington Township in Berks County, Pa. as well as the Index to the Records of The Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Bally, Pa.
