He married (1) Bessie Emmerson October 18, 1890 in Jefferson, Alabama. He married (2) Georgia Holman April 9, 1901 in Carrollton, Mississippi Court House, daughter of James Holman and Georgianna Lott. She was born Abt. April 1, 1884 in Carrollton, Carroll County, Mississippi, and died October 15, 1946 in St. Francis Sanatorium in Denver, Denver County, Colorado.

James Early Kevil

The death of the above citizen occurred on Friday, November 20, 1936, at 7:45 P. M., at his home at 728 Boudousquie Street, Pascagoula, his death being caused by heart disease. The funeral was held in Biloxi, on Tuesday morning at ten o'clock, a full military funeral, the chaplin of the Government Hospital officiating, with interment in the National Cemetery there.
Deceased was 69 years of age, was born in Princeton, Kentucky, and had lived in Pascagoula the past eight years. Prior to that time he lived in California for a number of years. He was an army officer under Teddy Roosevelt in the Spanish-American War, and had been since then a railroad telegrapher, and a postmaster. He was a Mason and Modern Woodman of the World.
Surviving are one daughter, Selina, of Denver; two sons, James E. Kevil, Jr., of Houston, Texas, and Thomas Kevil, of Denver.

He married (1) Sara Charlotte Akins December 24, 1872, daughter of Reverand Akins and Mary Tayloe. She was born April 11, 1854, and died August 13, 1887. He married (2) Minnie Durham November 23, 1892. She was born 1873, and died 1962.

Marriage Notes for James Bond and Sara Akins:
The marriage on Christmas Eve was very festive and happy. The bride's brother, Doctor John Allison Akin, drove in a buggy to Crittenden County to bring Miss Margaret Perry to the wedding to be bridesmaid. She was the daughter of Reverand and Mrs. Beatty Perry. The bride and bridesmaid had been roommates at Princeton Seminary. The witness to sign the Marriage Certificate were Doctor John Allison Akin and Mr. Miles Johnson. Grief soon came to the young couple after fifteen years of marriage. Sara Charlotte Akins Bond, while having a tooth extracted in her brother's dental chair, died suddenly from chloroform on a linen handkerchief. Doctor Akins said many years later he had never had a happy day since the tragic death of his sister, Sara Charlotte.
