He married Leona Elizabeth Bright September 30, 1930 in San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas, daughter of Elgar Bright and Mary Johnson. She was born September 28, 1913 in San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas.

Notes for Allison Morton Kevil:
Moved to Littlefield, Texas in 1918, and farmed near San Angelo, Texas in the 1930's. In 1939, he moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico and became a carpenter. He also raised and bred Rambouilet sheep for breeding stock, and won many championships at state fairs in New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado. Active in getting unions established in potash mines near Carlsbad, New Mexico in the 1940's, and was also instrumental in getting equal opportunity employment long before it became law. Allison was called "Buster" by family and friends.

ALLISON KEVIL
Funeral services for Allison Morton Kevil, 78, 3001 Carver Street, will be held Tuesday at 2 P.M. at Denton Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Don Cartwright and Peter Hartman of First Baptist and Carlsbad Mennonite Church will officiate. Burial will be in Carlsbad Cemetery.
He died in a local hospital. He moved here from Carlsbad, Texas, where he had lived from the 1920s to 1939. Prior to that, he lived in Littlefield, Texas, for four years and Runnels County, Texas for three years.
Kevil was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local 1245, Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers, New Mexico Wool Growers Association, and the American Rambouilet Association.
Survivors include his wife, Leona of Carlsbad; four sons, Richard, Paul, and Tommy, all of Carlsbad, and Jesse of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Sid Wyrick of Carlsbad; one sister, Amanda Gentry of Pasadena, Texas; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Wyrick, Don Stevenson, Ray Good, Stanley Johnson, Paul Perez and Ernest Perez.

Kevil Sheep Win Ribbons

In eleven divisions of the Rambouillets portion of the 1971 New Mexico State Fair in Albuquerque, sheep owned by Tommy Kevil took twelve ribbons.
Three first places were awarded to him in the showing of ram lambs, pen of three lambs, and ewe lambs.
He took seven second places in rams, one year and under two; pen of three ewe lambs; ewe, one year and under two; pen of three ewes; ewe, two years and under three; three exhibitor's flock, and get of sire.
Kevil's Rambouillets also brought him two third place ribbons in rams, one year and under two, two years and under three.
The sheep were shown at the fair by the owners father, A. M. Kevil of 3001 Carver St., because young Kevil is presently serving in the U. S. Army in Augsburg, Germany. He is an E-5, specializing in electrocardiograms.

Funeral Services Held For R. U. Kevil

Funeral services were conducted R. U. "Bob" Kevil, 519 South Jefferson Street, Princeton, Saturday morning at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Rev. Delma Clemmons and Rev. Carl Glahn officiating.

Elks services were conducted at grave side in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Kevil, age 65, was a well-known farmer and director and vice-president of Farmers Bank and Trust Company. He was also a former director of Princeton Federal Savings and Loan Association.

He died in the Caldwell County War Memorial Hospital Thursday night, June 5 about 10:30 P.M. Mr. Kevil suffered an apparent heart attack while attending the regular meeting of Princeton Elks Lodge 1115.

Kevil had served as treasurer of the Elks Lodge for more than 30 years. Family members requested donations to the Elks National Scholarship Foundation or the Heart Fund in lieu of flowers, which was in accordance with Mr. Kevil's wishes.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret McKinney Kevil; one son, James R. Kevil, Princeton; and one daughter, Mary Ann Kevil, of Nashville; one brother, Petit Kevil, of Princeton; and four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Lowry and Mrs. John Morgan, both of Princeton; Mrs. Thomas Stephens, Henshaw, Ky. and Katherine Kevil, Miami, Florida.

Pallbearers were J. H. Carner, Van Knight, James Loftus, Don Hancock, Charles Watson, and Al Giordano. Honorary pallbearers were officers and directors of Farmers Bank and officials of the Princeton Elks Lodge, along with Jim Stevens, Jeff Watson, and Frank Anderson.

Mrs. Margaret Claire McKinney Kevil, 86, of South Jefferson Street, died Thursday, May 8, 1997, at 8:45 a.m. at Caldwell County Hospital, following a short illness.

A homemaker and member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Princeton, she was born Aug. 12, 1910 in Caldwell County, a daughter of the late George Richard and Margaret Donnigan McKinney.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Robert Urey Kevil in 1975.

Survivors include a son, James R. Kevil of Princeton, a daughter, Mary Anne Kevil of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Catherine Mitchell of Paducah, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 10, at 11 a. m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Danhauer officiating assisted by Father Frank Roof.

Buriel will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Princeton, Ky.
