THIRD GENERATION

4. Barbara Snively (2) Photo was born on 20 Jan 1810 in Betting Hof, Alsace (Hunsbach Elsass), Germany. Barbara (Snively) Baldner's birth date seem to be a real puzzle. Three dates have appeared:
1) 6 Mar 1808 from:
a) the description accompanying the photo from Ethel Baldner
b) Several documents/papers from the Guy Snively archives, including:
a "Family of Andrew Baldner" document, typed by an unknown author
2) 18 Aug 1809 from the "Persenalien" of Paul Schnaebele written in the German language. This was probably dictated by Paul to the person who wrote it because it is well believed that Paul could not write. I have the original.
Note: The birth dates of the children of Paul & wife, Barbara Weiss, listed on this document are clearly legible, but many seem to conflict with later documents.
3) 20 Jan 1810 from:
a) the Jan 1987 chart of the descendants of "Andrew /Andreas Baldner" by Lorna Baldner, RT #116, Dallas Center, IA 50063 and revised May 1990.
b) her tombstone in the cemetery in Spraytown, IN.
The 20 Jan 1810 date is used, because that's on the tombstone.
She died on 18 Dec 1881 in Loudonville, OH. She was buried on 18 Dec 1881 in Ullman cemetery, 1.5mi East of Loudonville OH, Twp RD 456.
