23. Wilbert Delos Bacon was born on 30 Nov 1863 in Colebrook, Ohio. The 1870 census (dated 2 July 1970) for Colebrook Co.,OH. lists (Wilbert) Delos Bacon as 6 yrs. Since Wilbert was born in the month of Nov., his birth year was 1863. He was buried in 1951 in Evergreen Cemetery, Chagrin Falls, OH.⁽⁸⁾ Wilbert Deloss Bacon was buried in Chargrin Falls, OH where his daughter, Arthamese and her family lived and he spent many summers. The site is marked with a small grave stone. He died on 5 Apr 1951 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. ⁽⁹⁾ Wilbert Delos Bacon lived his last years with his daughter, Mildred Mae King, and her family at 2649 Elmwood St.,Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. He spent his last year bedridden and had to be helped with all his daily efforts. But he was comfortable and not in any great pain. He died in spring of 1951. .
The following was told to Janet (King) Bibee by her mother Mildred (Bacon) King daughter of Wilbert and Luella Bacon.
It seems the Ballards of the Colebrook, OH area were very good friends of either the Bacons or the Hoytes or possibly both. Such good friends that they, including Luella, attended the 1888 wedding of Wilbert and Ellen. Luella was around 9 yrs old at the time.
As the story goes, Ellen was quite sick for a good length of time before she died in 1898. Luella was hired to clean and otherwise take care of the house during this time. And Wilbert ( who was 35) and Luella (who was 18 or 19) became very close during this period. So that's how come they married the same year that Ellen died, 1898 . Then Mildred was born the following Sept 1989.

He was married to Ellen R. Hoyt on 13 Mar 1888 in Colebrook, Ohio , Ashtabula Jefferson Chambers Pastor of Bapitist chruch.

Wilbert D. Bacon age 21 and Ella 18

Ellen R. Hoyt⁽²⁾ was born in 1863.⁽¹⁰⁾ She died in 1898 in Colebrook, Ashtabula County, Ohio.⁽¹¹⁾ Wilbert Delos Bacon and Ellen R. Hoyt had the following children:

32 ii. Barness Bacon⁽²⁾ was born on 1 Jan 1894 in Colebrook, Ohio. He died on 1 Jan 1894 in Colebrook, Ohio. The following note is from Joyce Marie (Bacon) McElroy:
"Barness Bacon is listed on Birth Records 1867-1909 ACGS. he is also listed with Bernice for the same date. He is listed as Volume 3 (011) 890259 LDS film. Bernice is listed as Volume 3 (13) 890259. There is no information at present to determine if he died at birth or shortly there after. Possibly died at birth."
33 iii. Bernice Bacon^{(2) (12)} was born on 1 Jan 1894 in Colebrook, Ohio. She died on 9 Oct 1894 in Colebrook, Ohio. She was buried in Colebrook, Cemetery, Colebrook, OH. The words "Bernice Infant Daughter" appear below the name "ELLEN R. wife of W. D. BACON " on the gravestone in Colebrook Cemetery. The following note is from Joyce Marie (Bacon) McElroy:
"Have copy of death registry for Ashtabula county, # 123 Bernice Middle initial is listed but can not make out. The child shown to be 8 months at the time of death. Can not make out cause of death, could be Cholera. Died in Colebrook and was reported by E.E. Anderson. Note there is another child listed as Barness on the Birth records of Ashtabula Genealogical Society LDS. microfilm, the child is a male born same day as Bernice, Barness is listed on Volume 3 (11) 890259 film and Bernice is listed on Volume 3 (13) 890259 film. Am lead to believe Barness died the same day or shortly there after."

He was married to Luella Horace Ballard on 19 Dec 1898 in Colebrook, Ohio. ⁽²⁾ Luella Horace Ballard was born about 1870 in Colebrook, Ohio.⁽¹³⁾ She died on 18 Jan 1914 in Mahoning Co.,OH.⁽¹⁴⁾ LUELLA H. BACON died about 2 weeks after giving birth to the last Bacon child, Francis. Wilbert Delos Bacon and Luella Horace Ballard had the following children:
