John Morse lived at the top of the hill. Down the hill, about a quarter of a mile, on the left, where the road was level, was a little school house. Across from the Reeds there was a mountain pasture and a sugar maple orchard. Here there was a shed called a sap camp. F.G.R. and L.C. both died in the house. Ruth saw L.C. just before she died. She was gasping and Aunt Carrie and Lura were holding her up in bed. Ruth remembers F.G.R. as a white haired man with a moustache who read the scriptures in the morning and who lifted her up in his arms to see their Christmas tree.
