From 1992 letter from Noel Castleman:
"Mathilda (nicknamed Tillie) had a sister, Ester, who married one A. C. Diericx, a wealth marine engineer and ship designer from England. He conjoined a Mr. Higgenbothem (sp) and designed and built the ships of the Matson Line. He was an early investor in the Hawaiian Island, and an one point owned the Honolulu Oil Company. Tillie had a brother, Thomas Carberry of Perth, Ontario, Canada, and a sister (name unknown....but her husband was named Albert Forest). Tom's wife was Clara, and to my knowledge, they had no children. Tillie was raised on a farm, and her parents had migrated to Canada from County Cork, Ireland, during the Great Potato Famine in Ireland during the 1860's."
