1. Thomas^ "the Mariner" STEDMAN ⁽¹⁾ was born before 1634 in Aberdeen, Scotland according to tradition.⁽¹⁾ He died in 1701 in New London, New London County, CT.⁽¹⁾ Thomas first found in New London, CT as early as 1646 & Windsor, CT about
1649. Vol. 1 page 19 Barbour records. Also 18th century Block Island, page
269. It is believed that the Steadman (Stedman) family were mostly sailors so therefore were hard to keep track of.

He was married to Hannah^ ISBELL (daughter of Robert^ ISBELL and Ann^ KINGMAN) on 6 Aug 1668 in New London, New London County, CT. ⁽²⁾ copy provided by James Richard Steadman 9/16/2000 Hannah^ ISBELL was born in 1642 in Salem, Essex Co., MA. ⁽¹⁾ She died in Mar 1707/8 in New London, New London County, CT. ⁽¹⁾ Thomas^ "the Mariner" STEDMAN and Hannah^ ISBELL had the following children:
