32. Cd from Heritage Quest. M593-1341-416B States place of birth as Rhode Island and he was 70 years old. Also he was living with Cynthia A. William C. Steadman was a tax collector.
33. William C. Steadman Obit Article !7 Jan 1887. was born in Rhode Island on Sept. 20 1799, in which state he resided until he became of age. (I believe that was 21). He then came to Jamestown, NY., where he lived some nine years. He was married there to Marena Crane, sister of Lyman Crane, deceased of this place, and the result of this union was two children, both of whom are dead. In a few years, after living happily together, Mrs. Steadman died. He then moved to Columbus, (Warren Co., PA. and was married to Clarrisa Mount and to them ten children were born, all but two of them are now dead (1887). Rev D.S. Steadman of the M.E. Church at Tidioute, and Mrs. Celestia Shaffer, of Newburg, NY. However most of this large family of children lived to man and womanhood before they died.

The name was later changed to Smithwood in the 1880's. The cemetery has over 350 interments including victims of the Yellow Fever epidemic in Memphis who died at nearby Fountain Head Campground in 1872. Copied by Robert McGinnis in February 1982.

205. Beatrice Burge Peelman, gave me information on Emily's death. We sent
for a death certificate because we could find no information as to
when or where she died or where she was buried. The death certificate
has deteriorated so the copy is not real legible. It does state when
she died and where she was buried but can't read who handled the
funeral arrangements. She died of a cerebrial
hemorrage. After falling and breaking her hip. I got information from Beatrice Burge Peelman.
