Claude S. "Pete" Wetherill, 3rd, of Yardley, Pa., passed away in his
home after a lengthy illness on Monday, January 28, 2002 at the age of
73. His wife Doris was at his side.
Mr. Wetherill was born in Doylestown, Pa. and lived his entire life in
this area. He was an ardent fan of jazz music and had his own band in
earlier years. He was the owner of Wetherill Lumber located in Bristol,
Pa. until his retirement in 1993. Mr. Witherill served for many years on
the Board of Directors of the Middle Atlantic Lumbermen's Association as
well as the Board of the Silver Lake Nature Center, and for a time was
associated with the Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Wetherill was a devoted family man and is survived by his wife of 48
years, Doris (Adams) Wetherill. He is also survived by his sons, Claude
Scott Wetherill, 4th and wife Linda of Springtown, Pa. and Mark
Wetherill and wife Kathleen of Yardley, Pa., as well as his daughters,
Claudette Wagner and husband Dale, of Fogelsville, Pa. and Kim Walker
and husband William of Bradenton, Fla. Mr. Wetherill also has 10
grandchildren, Dale, Wesley, Brendan, Samantha, Madison, Morgan,
Jeffrey, Mackenzie, Amanda and William. His sister, Joan Foltz of
Columbus, N.J. and his brother, Donald Wetherill of Moorestown, N.J.
will also miss their loving brother.
Mr. Wetherill and his wife both attended the First Presbyterian Church
of Morrisville.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday,
February 1, 2002 between 9:30 and 11:30 am at the James J. Dougherty
Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pa. where his Memorial
Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Doylestown Cemetery on
Court Street in Doylestown, Pa. will follow.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family requests that
memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society, 700 Horizon
Circle, Suite 201, Chalfont, Pa. 18914 or to the First Presbyterian
Church of Morrisville, 771 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Morrisville, Pa.
