10. Franciszek "Frank"
LEPAK
was born on
1 Oct 1844 in Czapiewicz, Chojnice, Bydgoszcz, Poland. He died on 4 Mar 1929
in Maple Grove Twn., Shawano County, Wisconsin. Frank, at the home of his son
"Ray", died very suddenly at 4 P.M. at Hofa
Park due to senility; DR. Alvin Dupont; Undertaker-J.P. Prokopovitz;

Mr. Lepak,at age 85, was the last of the orginal settlers of Hofa Park and
residing there for 52 years. He was buried on 7 Mar 1929 in St. Stanislaus Cemetary,
Hofa Park, Wisconsin. Frank And Josephine arrived at the Port of New York aboard
the ship "Bark
Ocean" on 11 June 1872 having left from the port of Bremen Germany. Along
with them on their journey to this country were friends, Valentine and
Alexandria Peplinski and three of their children. Maybe this friendship
was established aboard ship as they lived some distance from each other in
Poland. At any rate they lived near each other in Milwaukee for five
years, further cementing their friendship and along with Frank's brother
Mike and the Valentine Sygmanski family, became the first four Polish
families to settle in the heavily timbered area of what we now know as
Hofa Park in the year of 1877. He was married to Joszefina JANIKOWSKA (daughter
of Jan, JANIKOWSKI and Anna Marianna
POLCZYNSKA) on 29 Jan 1872 in Church of All Saints, Brusy, Chojnice, Poland.
Joszefina JANIKOWSKA was born on 24 Jan 1852 in Czarnowo, Chojnice,
Bydgoszcz, Poland. She died on 29 Dec 1928 in Maple Grove Twn., Shawano County,
Wisconsin. She was buried on 31 Dec 1928 in St. Stanislaus Cemetary, Hofa Park,
Wisconsin. Franciszek "Frank" LEPAK and Joszefina JANIKOWSKA had the
