SECOND GENERATION2. Berry LIVELY (1) was born in 1791 in Augusta Co., Va.. He died before 1850 in East Baton Rough Parish, La.. (1) Berry Lively moved early to East Baton Rouge Parish, La. Here he enlisted on 25 Sep 1813 in Capt. Ferdinand L. Amelung's Co., First Regt. Of Infantry. He served for a period of 5 years, for which he received a bounty land warrant for 160 acres. Bounty Lan Warrant File, #12-160 WT19662). He was discharged on 24 Sep 1818 as a corporal. At the time of his enlistment, he was described as a farmer, 5'11" tall, fair complexion, dark eyes, and brown hair. He served in the battle of New Orleans in the War Of 1812. Berry was subsequently a plantation owner in East Baton Rouge Parish where he lived until death. Since he is not listed in the 1850 or 1860 Census of East Baton Rouge Parish, it is presumed he had previously died. Hanna
