Catherine McCartney³⁶ was born 1803 in Westmoreland Pa³⁶, and died date unknown in Hardin Co Ohio (Westmoreland, PA)³⁶. She married Jacob Devore on 1820³⁶, son of Joshua Devore and Parnina A Gibson.

She was buried at Grant Cem but it is to be believe she was moved to Westmoreland 1902 with her family. Although she has a stone still at Grant with her husband and children.Catherine(MCcartney) DeVore was born in Westmoreland Co,Pa. in1803, and is a daughter of James and Anna(Sanford) McCartney. The former died early in manhood. but his wife lived to be 99 years,7monts,5days old. She visited Sanford De Vore at his home in her 95th year, and returned to Pa, where her demise occured about 1848. A brother and sister of Anna Sanford were captured by the Indians,and were kept in captivity for 7 years. Their father a mill on the Susquehenna River,near Lewiston.
