The will mentioned his wife Elizabeth and 7 eldestchildren and 5 under age.James settled on the north side of the Monongahela River opposite the present site of the Monongahela,Pa. He as the first of his family to be born in the USA, About 1770. James ran a ferry there wntil his death in 1779. Where he lived, was a part of Cumberland Co. Pa. until1771 Of Restraver Twp, Westmoreland (formerly Bedford) Co. Pa. This became Elizabeth Twp, Allegheny Co, in 1788. It is now part of Forward Twp, Allegheny Co,Pa.
