Stuart T. Thompson was buried in Timber Ridge Presbyterian Churchyard, off U.S. 11 North of Lexington, Rockbridge County, Virginia, USA. Stuart was a farmer on land which was inherited by Isabelle as her part of Oakley plantation.

Another item from Isabelle S. Miller's scrapbook, with no newspaper banner head, or date, reports:
"STUART T. THOMPSON DIED AT DECATUR-----

Stuart Thomas Thompson, aged eighty-two years, died at 8 p.m. Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ellis Miller at Decatur from the infirmities of old age. He was born Dec. 10, 1862 (ed. 1852 is correct) in Augusta county a son of Charles and Mary Wilson Thompson. Practically all of his life had been spent in Rockbridge. For the last five years he had been bedridden. Besides Mrs. Miller he leaves another daughter, Mrs. Douglas E. Brady of Buffalo Forge and one sister, Mrs. Scottie Bear of Harrisonburg. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Timber Ridge Stone church of which he had been a member and officer. Burial was at Timber Ridge."
