George Taylor (son of William Taylor and Elizabeth Anderson)⁸⁵⁵ was born October 12, 1762 in Albemarle, County, Virginia, USA, and died December 12, 1834 in Schuyler County, Illinois, USA. He married Agnes Lunsford on February 23, 1790 in Amherst County, Virginia, USA⁸⁵⁵, daughter of William Lunsford and Mrs. William Lunsford.

For George Taylor, records show he enlisted in Amherst County, Virginia, USA, September 1777 in the Company of Captain Samuel Shackleford, Regiment of Colonel Broardheads, which was attached to the command of General MacIntosh. He served as a Private in the Revolutionary War. Census of 1810 in Augusta County, with six sons & three Daughters. Census of 1820 & 1830 in Rockbridge County. Survey Book page 10, George had 155 acres on Irish Creek in Rockbridge County, Virginia, USA. After his tours and discharge his pension application was approved. (His brother John also served.)
