Anna Louisa Adelaide Hubbs was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, on 1 November 1825. Her parents were Charles Ellis and Elizabeth "Betsy" Lee (Miller) Hubbs. She married her cousin Middleton Miller.

An obituary for Anna Louisa points out the type of person she was. It states " at a period of her life, so early and unusual with those of her age, led clearly by the Spirit of God, offered herself a candidate for the sealing ordinances of the church.

The session of the church looking to her youth, advised a postponement of her public profession, but was soon afterward convinced by the clear and satisfactory account she gave of her gracious experience and her consistent, active religious life.

Her union with the church was made under the ministry of Rev. M. D. Howard but she subsequently transferred her membership to the church of which the younger Rev. Thomas Janeway was pastor and on her marriage and removal to Washington, Virginia, USA presented her certificate of dismissal and was received into the Presbyterian Church." In the Washington, Virginia, USA., church she became a very strong worker. The Washington, Virginia, USA., church began in 1820 and was organized in 1833, it's building was erected in 1852 and was dissolved in 1892. One reason given was low membership.

The name of the Pennsylvania, USA church was not listed, but may have been Quaker, became her grandfather was an Orthodox Quaker minister.

Anna Louisa Adelaide Hubbs married Middleton Miller, her cousin, April 4, 1848 by Rev. Thomas Janeway. After the marriage they moved to Washington, Virginia, USA, where she was received into the Presbyterian Church. It is not clear about the church attendance of Middleton but it was known that the Millers were Episcopalian.

Anna Louisa died January 13, 1886, Middleton died March 17, 1893 They had 6 children, who are covered under her husband's Middleton's sketch.
