Died at her mother's home on the south line, Glenelg, on Thursday evening at 9.30, December 1st 1904, Miss Flora McIntyre, daughter of the late Rev. Robt. McIntyre. After a lingering illness, borne with Christian resignation, aged 46 years, Miss McIntyre ended her days on the old farm where she was born. She lived an exemplary life, and her Christian experience during her life is worthy of mention. Her beautiful manner and appearance combined made her loveable by all who formed her acquaintance. She was one who never murmured nor complained during her long sickness of more than two years, and when the end of her journey was reached she could truly say "I have fought a good fight &." for she, with Christian patience, fought with the dreadful disease which ended her days in the prime of life. Miss McIntyre was a consistent member of the Baptist denomination. She identified herself with that body in her youth by being immersed in baptism. Miss McIntyre leaves as chief mourners, an aged mother who has experienced trials and vicissitudes of this life. Now she can give a backward look and can say in reality with the women of old "That she did what she could to alleviate the suffering of a loving daughter during her illness". And those six sisters, four of them attended in turns at the bedside of their departed sister denying themselves of the means at their disposal for the sake of making the sick member of the family as comfortable as possible. The brother at home did his part also. The members of the family are Miss Dora, of Rochester, who has been home for the last month or two, Kate and Minnie, of Toronto, Mrs. Rose (Maggie) of Bruce County, Mrs. Cawker (Jennet) of Vancouver B.C., and Sarah at home. The brothers are James and Donald in a far off country, and Norman at home. The father died twenty years ago and a brother, Alexander, died some 25 years ago, and another brother, Robert died 10 or 12 years ago in Duluth. The funeral on Saturday, the 3rd inst., to Priceville cemetery, was largely attended. Rev. Mr. Matheson officiated at the house and grave, and made beautiful reference as to the genuineness of the Christian character of the departed one whom he frequently visited during her illness. Thus ended the life of another of the fairest of her sex; and although the body lies sleeping in the tomb the spirit is enjoying the rest that remaineth for the righteous.
Mr. and Mrs. Rose of Bruce attended Mrs. Rose's sister's funeral on Saturday the 3rd inst. Also Misses Kate and Minnie McIntyre of Toronto attended their sister's funeral.
