Some bad news, I'm afraid.
Grandma - Mabel Bruce - died peacefully at home in Bradford at 6pm on
Wednesday 5th January.
Mum - Gwen Leach - is currently sorting out affairs, with the family due to
join her next week and the funeral planned for late next week or early the
week afterwards.
Condolences and well-wishes can be sent to Gwen Leach at 206 Cutler Heights

George Blake, baptized July 17 1796, in the Parish of Pitney, Somersetshire, England. On April 30 1822, at Street, in the Parish of Compton Dundon, Somersetshire, England, he married Hannah Bartlett, baptized April 3 1796, in the Parish of Compton Dundon, Somersetshire. (Hannah's parents were Margret & William Bartlett, 'they are my Great Great Great Grand parents')

From the early records in Tauton, Somerset, England, my Great Great Great Grand Parents, Margaret and William Bartlett, are listed as living near Compton Dundon, Somerset. We did not find their marriage lines, hence we did not find Margret's family name. Records show they had two children; Michael, baptized October 7 1792; Hannah, baptized April 3 1796. In these early records of the same area, we found a Elizabeth Bartlett was buried on May 11 1604. We found no record of this, but it is possible she was the grand mother, or even the great grand mother of the above mentioned William Bartlett, who would be born about 1760. As she lived in the same area, it is 95% likely she was a family member.

Hannah & George Blake came to Woodstock, in 1824, with their eighteen month old daughter, Elizabeth, born in February 1823 and months old son, Thomas C., born in early 1824. On July 21 1825, they bought 50 acres of land, the East Half of Lot 5, Concession # 12, Zorra Township, Ontario, Canada. On October 5 1883, they bought 25 acres of land, the South West Quarter of Lot # 5, Con 12, Zorra Township. They resided on this property all their remaining years, Hannah died September 20 1864, George died March 31 1869, they were buried in the Baptist Cemetery at Woodstock, Ontario.
