Oliver Franklin Blake, born April 11 1864, Belvedere, Boon County, Illinois, U.S.A. When he was roughly one year old his parents, George and Catherine along with their five children, (a son John died as an infant in Illinois in 1860), returned to Canada. They settled on Lot # 18, Concession # 10, East Zorra township, Oxford County, (this farm is seven miles north of Woodstock, and one mile west of # 59 highway). On February 27 1885 , He married Elizabeth Cowing, born January 4 1864, on the West Half of Lot # 19, Concession # 16, East Zorra Township, Oxford County. Elizabeth Cowing was the daughter of Mary Ann (Murray), 1833--1884 and Jown Cowing, 1811--1879. (they are my Great Grand Parents).


Elizabeth and Oliver Blake's children were all born on the East Half of Lot # 19, concession # 10 East Zorra Township, Oxford County, Ontario (seven miles north of Woodstock). Both daughters died when children, they along with their parents were buried in the Baptist Cemetery, At Woodstock.

On July 29 1914, he married Sarah Clarkson Rowe, born June 15 1887, on the East Half of Lot # 24 Concession # 11, East Zorra Township, Oxford County. After their marriage they lived for 12 years on the East Half of Lot # 16, Concession # 11, East Zorra Township, Oxford county, (six miles north of Woodstock on # 59 Highway). They had six children (listed on the Family Page).

Sarah Clarkson (Rowe) Blake died December 12 1929, William Percy Blake died November 6 1960. They were both buried with their daughter Dorothy Irene in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Woodstock, Ontario.

In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Blott of Winwick in the county of Huntington, farmer, being weak in body, but of sound and disproving mind, memory and understanding, do make my last will and testament as follows, that is to say I give and bequeath unto my father in law, John Bucknell of Washingley in the said county, Farmer, all and every my good chattels and personal effect whatsoever and wheresoever (subject to the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses) but never the less upon this special trust and confidence to pay my dear wife one full third part of the residue of my said personal estate within twelve months after my decease. And upon further trust to stand of the remaining two third parts of my said personal estate for the benefit of my dear daughter Mary Blott and the child or children with which my said wife is now pregnant the same to be equally divided between them when and as soon as they shall severally attain their respective age of twenty one years and the interest in the meantime and so much of the principal as shall be to be applied in their maintenance and education. But in case either of the said children shall die under the age of twenty one years the survivor and survivors to be to the share or shares of her or them dying at the said age of twenty one years. And in case my said daughter Mary and the child or children with which my said wife is now pregnant shall die under the age of twenty one years. Then I give each two third parts of my said personal estate or to much thereof as shall remain unapplied for the benefit of my said children. To the said John Bucknell and my said wife equally to be divided between them share and share alike and (Lawfully) I appoint the said John Bucknell the sole executor of this my will and the guardian of my said daughter and of the child and children of which my said wife is pregnant. And my will and desire is that the Farm and Lands I now occupy be kept on by the said John Bucknell to enable him the to provide for my said wife and child and the child or children with which she is pregnant. And hereby revoking all former wills I declare this to be my last will and testament in whereof I have here unto set my stand the twenty seventh day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy one.
