The interest in this parcel of land was the house situated on the land. It was where I (Calvin Lucas) was born in 1933.

John Hoodless, born August 20 1786, at Sebergham, Cumberland, England. On February 8 1809 at Sebergham, he married Sarah Clarkson, born April 3 1787. Their 8 children are listed on the Family Page.

John Hoodless, 1786--1870. John and his wife, Sarah Clarkson, after their marriage at Sebergham, Cumberland, it appears they lived at Caldbeck, Cumberland, (only a few miles apart), from English records all their eight children were born and baptized at Caldbeck. We do not know when or where Sarah (Clarkson) Hoodless died, maybe in Cumberland or maybe in Canada??? John (and maybe Sarah) and all the children except daughter Jane, emigrated to Canada, sometime about 1847, the exact date is not known. Their daughter Sarah and husband George Skelton bought land in 1847, their son John, bought land in 1853.

John Hoodless, b 1786 lived in England about the first 60 years of his life, then lived about 24 years in Canada??? He died while living on his son, John's farm, known as the East Half of Lot # 20, Concession # 10, East Zorra Township, Oxford County, one mile West of Hickson, he was buried in the Trinity Anglican cemetery, 3 miles north of Hickson, on # 59 Highway. His wife, Sarah (Clarkson) Hoodless, b April 3 1787, as we do not know where or when she died, we are unable to say how long she lived in England or if she ever did live in Canada. John's parents were William Hoodless, baptized March 21 1746, and Isabella Atkinson, baptized January 28 1748, they are my Great Great Great Grandparents.
