Ancestors of Fred LUTH - Family Group Records
Fred LUTH, born in 1876 in Clinton County, Iowa, was the oldest son of
Hans Henry LUTH and Margaretha OHDE LUTH, who both immigrated from Schleswig-Holstein,
Prussia (Germany) to Clinton County, Iowa in 1870 (departing Hamburg and arriving
in the port of New York). Hans Henry LUTH came from Gadendorf, Schleswig-Holstein,
in northern Germany west of Kiel and close to the Baltic Sea. Margaretha OHDE
LUTH came from Erfde, Schleswig-Holstein, just southeast of Schleswig, Germany.
They had nine children and homesteaded first in Crawford County, Iowa and then
ultimately in Buffalo County, Nebraska. These family group records are for Fred
Luth, my husband's grandfather, and his ancestors. Detailed biographical information
is also available for some of these individuals as is information on LUTH and
