385. Columbus Lee Lytle was born on Aug 14 1871 in McDowell County, NC. He died on Jan 23 1943 in McDowell County, NC. He was also known as Lum. Obituary from McDowell County Newspaper: "C.L. Lytle 71, dies at his home in Old Fort"
C.L. Lytle, 71, well know farmer of the Old Fort section of this county, died at his home last Friday morning. He had been in declining health for several years.
The funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Bethlehem Methodist Church and burial will be in the church cemetery.
He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Mattie Malinda Halford Lytle; Three daughters, Miss Tressie Lytle of Old Fort, Mrs. L.W. Wakefield of Morganton, and Mrs. Fred Allen of Swannanoa; four sons, A.Y. Lytle of Marion, Luther H. and Gudger Lytle of Old Fort, and Ransom B. Lytle of Camp Beale, Calif.; a brother, George R. Lytle, of Chattanooga and 19 grandchildren.

He was married to Mattie Malinda Halford (daughter of Alney Burgin Halford and Louise Hoyle) in 1896 in McDowell County, NC. They are buried in the Salem Community Cemetery, Old Fort, NC. Mattie Malinda Halford was born on Jan 23 1873. She died on Dec 5 1951. Columbus Lee Lytle and Mattie Malinda Halford had the following children:
