Julia LIBBY was born in Gray, Maine.⁽⁵⁾ On page 191 of The Libby Family in America, Julia Ann's parents are given as Isaac Libby and Comfort Leighton, both of Gray. Isaac died of consumption, Jul 30 1833. His wife died Mar 13 1833. Isaac was a farmer, cooper, and small trader in Gray, and built wharves in Portland.

Isaac's parents were Simon Libby, b. Scarborough Dec 19 1778. Simon married Elizabeth Small, Jan 23 1800. She was born in Gray. Her parents were Isaac and Susan (Hobbs) Small. Simon died Aug 14 1858. Elizabeth died Jan 23 1836. Nathaniel RIDEOUT and Julia LIBBY had the following children:
