Notes for LILLIAN MAE TAYLOR: Obit: Pilot Mtn., NC: Mrs. Lillian Mae Taylor Cook, 90, of Cleo Cain Road, Pilot Mountain, NC, died Friday evening, August 6, 1999 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC Mrs. Cook was born in Surry Co., NC January 19, 1909 to Thomas Lafayette and Lora Anna Chilton Taylor. Mrs. Cook was a housewife and a member of Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church. Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law; Mrs. Allure Bennett and husband, Jack of Westfield, NC, Mrs. Lola Simmons and husband, Ted of Pinnacle, NC, Mrs. Reva Sisk of Mount Airy, NC, and Mrs. Doris Cook of Dobson, NC; four grandchildren, Joe Bennet, David Simmons, Doug Simmons and Susan Bustos; 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mallie Taylor Cook of Carthage, NC and two brothers, Herbert Taylor of Westfield, NC and Thoms L. Taylor, Jr. of Fernandian Beach, FL. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church by Rev. Erica Durham and Rev. Linda Blessing. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Cook is at Cox-Needham Funeral Home and Chapel in Pilot Mountain and will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the services. The family will receive friends at Cox-Needham Funeral Home on Sunday, August 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. and at other times at the Simmons home in Pinnacle, NC. Memorials may be made in floral tribute or to the Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund. |

Notes for JAMES WESLEY HAYMORE: Obit: MOUNT AIRY - Mr. James Wesley Haymore, 65, of 3083 Westfield Road passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at his home. Mr. Haymore was born in Surry County on Feb. 9, 1936, to the late Virgil Lee and Geneva Samuel Haymore. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired owner of Haymore's Used Auto Parts and Garage. Survivors include two sisters and a brother-in-law, Remona Goins and Leona and Daymond Thompson, all of Mount Airy; a brother, Joe Bill Haymore of the home; a niece and spouse, Robin and Kenneth Peavy of Mount Airy; two nephews, Edward Lee Goins of Mount Airy and Dale Thompson of Chapel Hill; great-nieces and -nephews, Danielle Goins, Logan Lee Goins, Nicholas Peavy and Anne Peavy, all of Mount Airy; and a special cousin, Helen Watson of High Point. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at Indian Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Brother Don Collins. Military honors by VFW Memorial Honor Guard, Mount Airy Post No. 2019, and Pilot Mountain Post No. 9436. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Friday night at Moody Funeral Home.
