acquired a holding on Silver Run near the present Spruce Pine golf course.
(Danny A. McBee). He was married to Elizabeth Newsome on 26 Oct 1805 in Johnston County, North Carolina (now Tn).

37. Elizabeth Newsome(1) was born about 1790 in Johnston County, North Carolina. She died about 1867 in Mitchell County, North Carolina. Elizabeth Newsome Mace possibly died in Henderson County, Henderson, North
Carolina while visiting relatives. She is buried, supposedly, in Holly Branch Cemetery, Henderson County, Henderson, North Carolina. (Danny A. McBee). Children were:

child ii. Sarah "Sallie" Mace(1) was born about 1809. I, Danny A. McBee, have seen some information that has been put in Ancestry.Com that suggests that James McFalls was married to Sarah Dickson who was born in 1810 in Burke County, North Carolina and she died on December 9, 1871 in Clintwood, Virginia. I, Danny A. McBee, have seen the marriage certificate that shows that James was married to Sarah Mase
(Mace). I am not sure as to the marriage to Sarah Dickson. [January 2, 2000].
child18 iii. Newsom(e) A. Mace.

child ix. Abraham Mace(1) was born about 1820. He died on 16 Sep 1864 in Elmira, New York. This could possibly be the Abraham Mace who died in Elmira, New York in the
prison camp instead of his 15 year nephew Abraham Mace as I had originally
thought. I will do more research and find out for sure. This Abraham Mace
fought and died in the Civil War. He was a private in Co. D, 11th Regiment,
N. C. He is buried in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, N. Y., 305W.N.C.
How sad to lose a brother in the war. No doubt, many of the Mace family
grieved over the loss of Abraham who died so many miles away.
