76. John McFalls Sr. (1) was born about 1721. He was married to Mrs. John McFalls Sr. about 1743.

77. Mrs. John McFalls Sr.(1) was born about 1723. There is a book in the Cleveland Community College library entitled
"Revolutionary Soldiers of Burke County" that quotes Jacob Grider, born in
Loudon Co., Virginia, July 7, 1760, who later at age 10 settled into Burke
County, North Carolina, that he recalled the scalping of Mrs. John McFalls.
Jacob Grider died March 6, 1840. Children were:

child i. John McFalls Jr.(1) was born about 1745 in ? Botetourt, Virginia. John McFalls, listed as John McFall in some writings, was hanged at Kings
Mountain after the battle of Kings Mountain for being a Tory. His brother,
Arthur McFalls, was spared because he knew Colonel McDowell, Patriot leader.
John McFalls was hanged because he dashed up to a patriots house and caused
his family considerable grief.

child iii. Durham McFalls(1). Durham McFalls shows up in the 1810 Burke County, North Carolina Census. He
also shows up as a bondsman in the marriage of Arthur McFalls and Emsey
Hollifield. I, Danny A. McBee, believe that Durham McFalls was a brother to
Arthur and John McFalls.
