30. Frederick "Fred"
Miller(1) was born on 27 Sep 1817
in North Carolina. He died on 26 Jan 1886 in Yadkin Co., old Surry Co. North
Carolina. He was buried in Courtney Baptist Church Cemetery, Yadkinville, North
Carolina. He was a Shoe maker in Yadkin Co., old Surry Co. North Carolina.
Fred Miller, age 33, farmer, is listed in the 1850 Surry County, North Carolina
Census, household 1446, as head of household, with wife Lucinda, age 31, and
children John M. (or A.) Miller, age 5, born circa 1845, and Peter A., 1, born
circa 1849. Right beside Fred Miller there is Peter Miller, age 75, and Christinia,
67, living in household 1444, in the 1850 Surry County, North Carolina Census.
Peter Miller was the father of Fred[erick] Miller. [Danny A. McBee, August 23,
1998].
Frederick Miller, age 52, is listed in the 1870 Yadkin County, North Carolina
Census, in household 217/216, with son Frederick, age 20. I, Danny A. McBee,
am not sure what happened to Lucinda Shore Miller and the other children. [Danny
A. McBee, August 23, 1998]. Lucinda Shore Miller must have died before 1870.
Frederick Miller, age 52, and his son Frederick, 20, are listed in the 1870
Yadkin County, N. C. Census. His children James C. Miller, 17, and Lucinda C.,
15, are listed in the household of Josu. McKnight, 67, and his wife Sarah, 63,
in the 1870 Yadkin County, N. C. Census. I am not sure where Physia Jane Miller
was in this Census. [Danny A. McBee, August 24, 1998].
I, Danny A. McBee, believe that Frederick and Lucinda Shores Miller, had other
children before the birth of their son John Miller. Frederick was born in 1817
and I have no children listed for him until the birth of John Miller, born about
1845. That would have made Frederick age 28 at the birth of John. I feel that
Fred and Lucinda had another son who died that was born prior to 1843. There
is a Jane Miller, age 34, born circa 1836, listed between John Miller and his
father Frederick Miller. Jane Miller, age 34, is listed with her son William,
age 5, and daughters Elizabeth, 3, and Eliza 7/12 months old. [Danny A. McBee,
August 23, 1998]. He was married to Lucinda Shore (Possibly Danner).
31. Lucinda Shore (Possibly Danner)
(1) was born on 31 Mar 1818 in North Carolina.
She died on 27 Sep 1863. I, Danny A. McBee, am not sure what happened to Lucinda
Shore. Lucinda does not show up in the 1870 Yadkin County, North Carolina Census
with husband Frederick, age 52, and son Frederick, age 20. [Danny A. McBee, August
23, 1998]. Children were:
i.
James Miller(1) was born about 1839.
ii.
Mary Miller(1) was born about 1841.
iii.
Rhoda Miller(1) was born about 1843.
iv.
John M. Miller Sr.(1) was born about
1845 in Surry County, North Carolina.(6)
Name was on his daughter, Lucinda's, death certificate, according to Millie
Gottlieb Dedmond. Millie Dedmond is my aunt. She was married to my late uncle
Haley Maxwell "Mac" Dedmond. I believe that to be incorrect. John
Miller was Lucinda's brother rather than her father. [Danny A. McBee, August
28, 1998].
v.
Peter A. Miller(1) was born about 1849
in North Carolina. Peter A. Miller fought in the Civil War. He resettled in
Yadkin County, North Carolina after he came home from the war. [Danny A. McBee,
August 11, 1998].
Peter A. Miller, age 1, is listed in the 1850 Surry County, North Carolina Census
living in the household of his father Fred Miller, age 33, farmer. [Danny A.
McBee, August 23, 1998].
P. A. Miller, age 27, North Carolina, is listed in the 1870 Yadkin County, North
Carolina Census with wife M. V., 27, and daughters C. T., 7, and M. J. (Mary
Jane), 5, S. E. (Sarah Ellen), 3, and son J. G., 1. Also listed in the household
of P. A. Miller was C. J, 18, female, and W. W., 14. [Danny A. McBee, August
23, 1998].
vi.
Frederick E. Miller(1) was born about
1851 in Yadkin Co., old Surry Co. North Carolina. Frederick Miller, age 20, is
listed in the Yadkin County, North Carolina Census living in the household of
his father Frederick Miller, age 50. I do not understand what had happened to
Lucinda Shore Miller, mother of Frederick E. Miller. I also do not understand
what happened to cause Lucinda C. Miller and her brother James C. Miller to be
living in the household of Joshua McNight of Yadkin County, North Carolina.
[Danny A. McBee, August 28, 1998].
vii.
James C. "Jim" Miller(1)
was born in Sep 1852 in Yadkin Co., old Surry Co. North Carolina. He died on
26 Jan 1940 in Yadkin Co., old Surry Co. North Carolina. Date of death is substantiated
by notes from Millie Gottlieb Dedmond. She stated "from some notes of William
H. Dedmond, I copied his notation that James C. Miller (88) of Yadkin County
died January 26, 1940. Also I copied the name, Emma Miller, Yadkinville, RFD
2, N. C. with no other information. [Danny A. McBee, August 23, 1998]. James
Miller was a magistrate and farmer. He was one of the founders of
Turners Creek Baptist Church. In some of his old magistrate books, there are
records of defendants being fined the sum of 50 cents. [Danny A. McBee,
August 17, 1998].
I also had James Miller being married to an Emma. I, Danny A. McBee, do not
how I
came about that but it had to be through census records. [Danny A. McBee, August
17, 1998].
James C. Miller, age 47, born September 1852, married 25 years, is listed as
head of household in the 1900 Yadkin County, North Carolina Census with wife
Sarah E., 41, and children Mary L., 19, Joseph C., 17, George W., 13, Benjamin
H., 11, Sallie B., 10, Alford E., 8. [Danny A. McBee, August 18, 1998].
My aunt Millie Gottlieb Dedmond, wife of my uncle Haley Maxwell Dedmond, states
that James C. "Jim" Miller was the father of George Miller, of Courtney,
N. C. Aunt Millie also stated that John Miller, brother of Lucinda Todd, was
the father of James Miller. I, Danny A. McBee, believe that John Miller, brother
of Lucinda Todd, was also the brother of James C. Miller (not his father). I,
Danny A. McBee, believe that Frederick and Lucinda Shore Miller were the parents
of James, John, and Lucinda Miller (Todd). [Danny A. McBee, August 23, 1998].

Physia Jane Miller(1) was born on 25
Aug 1856 in Yadkin Co., old Surry Co. North Carolina. She died on 18 Feb 1943
in Yadkin Co., old Surry Co. North Carolina. She was buried in Turners Creek
Baptist Church, Yadkinville, North Carolina.
