232. Robert Hair
(1) was born in 1752 in Pennsylvania.
He died in Yadkin County, North Carolina. Robert served in the Revolutionary
War and settled in Surry County. The Hair
and Haire families of Yadkin County are descended from him. Robert entered
service in 1779 as a Private in the Militia and in the regular army as a
substitute for John Dickey. He was discharged in South Carolina after
eighteen months, was in the battle at Ramsour's Mill, and had six children.
