464. Daniel Hair⁽¹⁾ died in Sep 1789 in Iredell Co., N. C.. He was born Prior to 1730 in Mercerburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Daniel and Esther Hair came to Rowan County as part of the mass emigration
down the "Great Wagon Road" from Pennsylvania. Family legend has it that they
were both born in Ireland. The earliest official record of their presence in
Rowan is a land transfer in 1768. Daniel bought and sold land in large
parcels until his death in 1789. Esther Hair continued in the same tradition
with her sons and sons-in-law until she died in 1804. Ten children where

Daniel Hair's Last Will and Testament written circa 1789 is located in Will Book 1/7 in Iredell County, North Carolina. [Danny A. McBee, September 4, 1998].

Daniel Hair is listed as a Revolutionary War veteran, age 74, in Ancestry. Com. He is listed in Prince George's County, Virginia. Listed in Virginia Militia in the Revolutionary

October 10, 1764 Rowan County, North Carolina: Deed from George Cathey and wife Frances to Daniel Hare for 150 pounds, 350 acres on Sills Creek near Marlins Bridge, adjacent George Cathey, Sr. [Danny A. McBee, December 21, 1998].

There is a possibility that Daniel Hair settled into Maryland after leaving Pennsylvania on his way to North Carolina. There is a Dan Hair whose name appears on a petition in Maryland to move the capital from Joppa to Baltimore City in 1767/68. [Maryland Archives, Volume 61, page 500]. [Danny A. January 13, 1777, Rowan County, North Carolina: Deed from Daniel Hare and wife Esther to Samuel McCorkel, minister of the gospel, for 300 pounds, 315 acres on a branch of Sills Creek (book 8, page 445]. [Danny A. McBee, December 21, 1998].

September 5, 1777, Rowan County, North Carolina: Deed to Daniel Hare from John Dobbins, 640 acres on north side of Fourth Creek, for 380 pounds. [Danny A. McBee, December 21, 1998]. He was married to Esther Robinson on 19 Jan 1756 in St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Pennsylvania Township, Hanover, York County, PA..

465. Esther Robinson ⁽¹⁾ died on 23 Sep 1814 in Iredell County, North Carolina. Esther Robinson Hair's will was written September 23, 1914, probated November 1814. [Danny A. McBee, December 21, 1998]. She was born Prior to 1730 in Mercerburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Esther and Daniel Hair came to North Carolina from Pennsylvania about 1764. [Danny A. Ester Hair's Last Will and Testament was written about 1814. It is in Will Book 1/341 and located in Iredell County, North Carolina. [Danny A. McBee, September 3, 1998].

April 23, 1801, Iredell County, North Carolina: Esther Hare and son James, deed to Thomas Beard, 184 acres on Fourth Creek, for $220, next Hugh Hare, James Gay, and George Hare. [Danny A. McBee, December 21, 1998].

August 30, 1802, Iredell County, North Carolina: Esther, Thomas, and Joseph Hair, deed to John West, 125 ac. on Fourth Creek next Robert Hair, ______ Bradford, Hugh Hair, Joseph Hair, George Hair, the Spring Branch, for $250. Witness: James Tanner and David Beal.

August 30, 1802, Iredell County, North Carolina: Esther and Thomas Hair, deed to Robert Hair, 128 ac. on Fourth Creek on the County line, for $250. [Danny A. McBee, December 21, 1998].

It has been suggested by some Robinson/Hair genealogists that Esther Robinson was born in Ireland. [Danny A. McBee, February 20, 1999]. Children were:

i. Reuben Hair⁽¹⁾. Mentioned in his father's will. [Danny A. McBee, December 21, 1998].

iii. David Hair Sr.⁽¹⁾ was born in 1759 in Pennsylvania. He died on 20 Mar 1843 in Iredell County, North Carolina. David Hair named eight children in his 1849 Iredell County will, but no wife.
No current descendants are known. (I Danny A. McBee, have a date of death of
David of March 1843. I do not understand how he could have a 1849 Iredell
County, N. C. will). The Will is located in Will Book 3/31 in Iredell County, North
Carolina. [Danny A. McBee, September 3, 1998].

David Hair, Iredell County, North Carolina Militia given a $50.00 annual allowance,
$150.00 amount received. Started, age 72, July 29, 1833, with Revolutionary War
pension. [Danny A. McBee, November 15, 1998].

David Hair, Sr. was in the Revolutionary War. His obituary is listed in Carolina Watchman, January 18, 1849. [Danny A. McBee, December 21, 1998].
iv. James Hair⁽¹⁾ was born in 1761. He died in 1849. James, his wife Abigail and son David were mentioned in his brother David's
will. No current descendants are known. (Danny A. McBee).
v. Mary Hair⁽¹⁾ was born in 1762. She died on 21 Sep 1824. She was buried in Coddle Creek ARP Church, Iredell Co., NC. Mary married Colonel John Hall of Revolutionary War fam and had six children.
Thier family is well documented. (Danny A. McBee, November 11, 1998).
vi. Margaret Hair⁽¹⁾ was born in 1764. She died in 1848. She was buried in Coddle Creek ARP Church, Iredell Co., NC. Margaret married James Tanner who was involved in numerous land deals with his
mother-in-law. (Danny A. McBee).
vii. Hugh Hayr⁽¹⁾ was born in 1768. He died on 2 Dec 1846 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. He was buried in Coddle Creek ARP Church, Iredell Co., NC. Hugh Hayr was involved in several land deals with his mother and had holdings
in Rowan, Iredell, and Cabarrus Counties. (Danny A. McBee).
viii. Joseph Hair⁽¹⁾ was born in 1770 in Rowan County, North Carolina. He died in May 1840. Joseph married Ann Sharpe and has descendants in Rowan and Davie Counties.

ix. Rachel Hair⁽¹⁾ was born on 3 Jul 1778 in Rowan County, North Carolina. She died on 24 Sep 1848 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. She was buried in Poplar Tent Presbyterian Cemetery, Concord, Cabarrus County, N. C.. Rachel married James Bradford and is the ancestor of the Bradfords of Cabarrus

x. Thomas Hair⁽¹⁾ was born before 1774 in Rowan Co. (now Davie Co.) North Carolina. He died in 1821 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina.
xi. George Hair⁽¹⁾ was born before 1774 in Rowan County, North Carolina.
