464. Daniel Hair(1)
died in Sep 1789 in Iredell Co., N. C.. He was born Prior to 1730 in
Mercerburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Daniel and Esther Hair came to
Rowan County as part of the mass emigration
down the "Great Wagon Road" from Pennsylvania. Family legend has it
that they
were both born in Ireland. The earliest official record of their presence in
Rowan is a land transfer in 1768. Daniel bought and sold land in large
parcels until his death in 1789. Esther Hair continued in the same tradition
with her sons and sons-in-law until she died in 1804. Ten children where
named in their wills probated in the newly formed Iredell County. Information

There is a possibility that Daniel Hair settled into Maryland after leaving Pennsylvania
on his way to North Carolina. There is a Dan Hair whose name appears on a petition
in Maryland to move the capital from Joppa to Baltimore City in 1767/68. [Maryland

(1) died on 23 Sep 1814 in Iredell County, North Carolina. Esther
Robinson Hair's will was written September 23, 1914, probated November 1814.

It has been suggested by some Robinson/Hair genealogists that Esther Robinson

David Hair Sr.(1) was born in 1759
in Pennsylvania. He died on 20 Mar 1843 in Iredell County, North Carolina.
David Hair named eight children in his 1849 Iredell County will, but no wife.
No current descendants are known. (I Danny A. McBee, have a date of death of
David of March 1843. I do not understand how he could have a 1849 Iredell
County, N. C. will). The Will is located in Will Book 3/31 in Iredell County,
North

David Hair, Iredell County, North Carolina Militia given a $50.00 annual allowance,
$150.00 amount received. Started, age 72, July 29, 1833, with Revolutionary
War

David Hair, Sr. was in the Revolutionary War. His obituary is listed in Carolina

James Hair(1) was born in 1761. He
died in 1849. James, his wife Abigail and son David were mentioned in his brother
David's

Mary Hair(1) was born in 1762. She
died on 21 Sep 1824. She was buried in Coddle Creek ARP Church, Iredell Co.,
NC. Mary married Colonel John Hall of Revolutionary War fam and had six children.

Margaret Hair(1) was born in 1764.
She died in 1848. She was buried in Coddle Creek ARP Church, Iredell Co., NC.
Margaret married James Tanner who was involved in numerous land deals with his

Hugh Hayr(1) was born in 1768. He
died on 2 Dec 1846 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. He was buried in Coddle
Creek ARP Church, Iredell Co., NC. Hugh Hayr was involved in several land deals
with his mother and had holdings
in Rowan, Iredell, and Cabarrus Counties. (Danny A. McBee).

Joseph Hair(1) was born in 1770
in Rowan County, North Carolina. He died in May 1840. Joseph married Ann Sharpe
and has descendants in Rowan and Davie Counties.

in Rowan County, North Carolina. She died on 24 Sep 1848 in Cabarrus County,
North Carolina. She was buried in Poplar Tent Presbyterian Cemetery, Concord,
Cabarrus County, N. C.. Rachel married James Bradford and is the ancestor of
the Bradfords of Cabarrus
