EIGHTH GENERATION

188. William Sparks (1) was born in 1725 in Frederick Co./Queen Anne's Co., Maryland. He died on 1 Feb 1801 in Surry County, North Carolina. I have received information from my cousin, Virginia Hoyle Wilson, that
William was the father of 9 children. Two of them were Mary Sparks who was
married to Clement Buchanan and Jeremiah Sparks who was married to Jane Bell.
William Sparks moved from Maryland to North Carolina around 1764 (according to
my cousin Thomas Greene from Bakersville, North Carolina) because he was loyal
to the crown (a Tory). He was married to Mrs. (Ann) William Sparks about 1749 in Frederick County, Maryland.

189. Mrs. (Ann) William Sparks(1). Children were:

child i. Rachel Sparks(1).
child ii. William Sparks Jr.(1) was born about 1750 in Frederick County, Maryland.
child iii. Matthew Sparks(1) was born about 1752. He died about 1819.
child iv. Nancy Sparks(1) was born about 1756.
child v. Mary Sparks(1). I, Danny A. McBee, feel that Mary "Polly" Sparks was also married to Alanson
Connolly. (Danny A. McBee).
child vi. James Sparks(1) was born about 1762. He died about 1826.
child vii. Thomas Sparks Sr.(1) was born about 1766 in Probably Rowan County, North Carolina. He died about 1837 in Lawrence County, Kentucky.
child40 viii. Jeremiah Sparks.
child ix. George Sparks(1). I am not sure but I believe George Sparks, age 45, born in North Carolina that shows up in the 1850 Union County, Georgia Census is the son of this George Sparks. He is married to Fanny, 37, and has children listed as George, 16, Janes, 14, Enoch, 13, Elizabeth, 9, Susannah, 7, Jonathan, 6, Henry, 4, and Joseph, 2. [Danny A. McBee].
child x. Benjamin Sparks(1).
child xi. Margaret Sparks(1).
