Francis Henry McCan (b. July 21, 1847, d. February 7, 1926)
Francis Henry McCan (son of Joseph McCan and Julia Mary O'Brien)14 was born July 21, 1847 in Auckland, New Zealand15, and died February 7, 1926 in Ballyowen, Cashel16. He married Jane Mary Power on July 1, 1875 in Newtown House, Tramore17.
Notes for Francis Henry McCan:
Rented Newpark from father on his marriage at a rent of £600 p.a., but found it too much. Leased 200 acres of Ballyanne Desmesne, Co. Wexford, from Joseph Acheson on July 12 1880 for 60 years at £250 p.a. This included a house named Prospect lodge, where two sons were born. Returned to Newpark as estate manager for his father in 1885. Deed of surrender to Joseph Acheson dated 19 Nov. 1884.

A Memorial of a Deed of Marriage Settlement bearing date the twentyeight day of June one thousand eight hundred and seventysix and made Between Francis McCan of Newpark in the County of Tipperary Esquire of the first part Pierse Power of Newtown House Tramore in the County of Waterford Esquire and Jane Power his second daughter of same place Spinster of the second part Joseph McCan of Herberton Blackrock in the County of Dublin Esquire of the third part and Patrick Joseph Power of Newtown House aforesaid and Joseph Laughlin McCan of Herberton Blackrock in the County of Dublin aforesaid Esquires of the fourth part Reciting a Marriage intended to be had between the said Francis McCan and Jane Power and Reciting that by an Indenture of Lease bearing date the sixteenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and seventy six and made between the said Joseph Mccan of the one part and the said Francis McCan of the other part the said Joseph McCan demised unto the said Francis McCan part of the town and lands of Newpark thereinafter more fully described for the term of thirtytwo years from the twentyfifth of March then last past at the yearly rent of six hundred pounds and Reciting that the said Francis McCan was then possessed of the household furniture the particulars of which were set forth in a schedule thereto annexed And Reciting that the said Jane Power was entitled to a sum of two thousand pounds appointed to her by a Deed Poll bearing even date with said Indenture of Settlement by the said Pierse Power and Eliza Power his wife in favour of the said Jane Power (party thereto) And reciting that the said Francis McCan had executed his Bond with warrant of Attorney for confessing judgment to the said Patrick Joseph Power and Joseph Laughlin McCan their executors and administrators bearing even date with said Indenture of Settlement in the penal sum of four thousand pounds conditioned for the payment of the said sum of two thousand pounds with interest thereon at the rate of five pounds per cent per annum at the times and in the manner therein mentioned And rediting that the said sum of two thousand pounds the fortune of the said Jane Power had been duly paid to the said Francis McCan The said Indenture whereof this is a Memorial witnessed that in consideration of the said intended marriage and of the said sum of two thousand pounds the fortune of the said Jane Power so as aforesaid paid to the said Francis McCan, the said Francis McCan with the approbation of the said Jane Power and with the consent of the said Joseph McCan testified by his being party to and executing said Indenture did thereby assign unto the said Patrick Joseph Power and Joseph Laughlin McCan their exors. Lease dated 16 June 1876 by which Joseph McCan of Herberton, Blackrock, leases Newpark 462 acres for 32 years from 25 March 1876 at £600 p.a. rent free of all charges to Francis McCan.
