Looking for information on the parents and children of John Mac Gillivray (McGilvra) born abt, 1758 in the Village of Rigg, Snitzort Parish, Isle of Skye, Scotland. He came to America in 1780 as a conscripted British soldier with the 76th. Macdonald Highlander regiment. His wife, Jenet MacLeod accompanied him. His mother's name was Katy Mac Intyre. He was sent to Yorktown, was captured, sent to Winchester, Virginia prison camp until wars end and then settled in Albany NY. I would like any information I could get regarding his father's name, birthplace, and whether there were any more children from the marriage of John's father and Katy Mac Intyre. John had a brother Alexander born about 1750. Researching Scaccia, DeAngelis, Lupi De Franchesca. Also need information on Scanio's from CampoFelice, Sicily. Any help will be appreciated. |
