Source: Victor Van Zandt via Gary Van Zandt: Born in Georgetown, KY. Twin brother is George Washington Van Zandt. Per the Isaiah Van Zandt family Bible, held by the Missouri Historical Society in St. Louis: "William Wallis (?) VanZant was born at the Tavern 4 mile west of Georgetown, KY on Monday the 10th November, 1834 at 1/2 past 10 o'clock A.M."--Written by William's mom, Margaret describing the birth of her twin sons, William and George, 40 hours apart in 1834. Was a carpenter early in life. May have had a Daulton as an employee--was he later a contractor? In the 1870's, William W. was night policeman in Jacksonville, IL. He had 5 children. Had a twin brother name George Washington Vanzant who worked as a carpenter in Jacksonville, IL in the 1860's.
