Robert Mayfield being sick in Body But of Good and Perfect Memory, Thanks be to Almighty God. And calling for (illegible) Estate of this Transitory life and that all Might Yield unto Death, Which it shall please God to Call. Do make, Constitute, Ordain, and Declare This My Last Will and Testament in Manner and Form Following; (illegible) Being Pertinent and sorry from the bottom of my heart for sins Past. and most humble desiring forgiveness for the Same, I Give and Commit my soul unto Almighty God My Savior and Redeemer. In whom and by the merits of Jesus Christ I Trust and Believe assuredly to be saved and to face full remission and forgiveness of all my sin's, and that my soul with my body at the general day of Resurrection shall rise again to (illegible) Joy, and through the Merits of Christ's Death and passion, Possess and enter the Kingdom of heaven, Prepared for the Elect and chosen. and my body to the earth from which it was taken. To be buried in such decent and Christian Manner.
As to my executors hereafter named shall be Moot and convenient. As (illegible) our wordly estates as the lord in Mercy hath sent me, my will and meaning is the same (illegible) shall be employed and possessed as hereafter by this my will and is expressed.
Item one I give and bequeath unto my well loved wife Sarah Mayfield all land and movable estate during her life.
One shilling each to Sons: Robert Mayfield, Abraham Mayfield, John Mayfield and Isaac Mayfield
To son Jacob Mayfield all Land at decease of wife
One shilling each to Daughters: Catherine Gregory, Jane Graves, Ann Connely.
Ext'x and excor wife Sarah and son Robert Signed Wit: Daniel Hays Robert X Mayfield Cornelius Sale
Proved by Oath of Sarah Mayfield, Widow, Executrix, Ect., Aug. 16, 1714 Sarah put up an estate bond in the amount of 50 pounds to bind her to carry out the terms of the will.
