Merritt and allied lines of the eastern shore of Maryland
Merritt & Allied Lines of Colonial Kent County, Maryland
The Descendants of Samuell Merritt of St. Paul's Parish
Allied families of the eastern shore include:
BECK, BLAKE, BROWN, BURGAN, COMEGYS, DAVIS, DUDLEY, DUNN, HYNSON, HANSEN, HATCHISON, JONES, MILLER, MILLWARD, NICHOLS, RINGGOLD, STEWART, THOMAS, VANSANT, WHALAND, WHELAND, WICKES and WILKINS, to name just a few.
Both the MERRITT families of St. Stephen's Parish (Shrewsbury) and St. Paul's Parish (Worton and Quaker Neck) are treated here, and that I am interested in all colonial MERRITTs from this region.
The counties primarily include Cecil, Kent and Queen Anne's, Maryland. Many of these families (and several more) have lived on and around the Delaware/Maryland/Virginia (Delmarva) penninsula from the 1600s to the present day, which makes for fascinating and complex relationships between families. Many of these connections are still being uncovered today.
