My research of the Weldy family history begins with Abraham Weldy of Tuscarawas Co., Ohio. He married Nancy Yoder and they had four daughters, Elizabeth, Anna, Margaret, and Sarah and five sons, Jacob, John, Samuel, Henry and Joseph. I can not locate any information on Abraham prior to his birth date.

A handwritten record made in about 1920 tells a story of three brothers who came to America from Switzerland in about 1812. It then details a partial list of decendents from Abraham.

The Welty family history also tells of three brothers who immigrated to America. The spelling of the name may have changed to Weldy, but a clear connection has not been made.

My great-grandfather, Irvin Victor, married Lola May Pittman in 1916 and they settled in Bremen, Indiana. They had seven daughters and 10 sons. My paternal grandmother, Berna Gwendolyn Weldy Hardy Edel, was their oldest.

I am trying to find out if Abraham had siblings or parents who also immigrated to America or did they remain in Switzerland. My grandparents were Mennonite. My great-grandmother, Lola May Pittman, were of Amish decent.

Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.
